Review: Fun, Friends, and Food at Raging Crab

Yesterday was supposed to be pizza night with the Jordan’s, the first friends we made here in Hawaii.  We all ended up deciding that getting our butts up and enjoying a seafood feast sounded way better.  TGIF right?  So we hit up Raging Crab in downtown Honolulu.  It was an amazing deal, Kevin and I shared the Captain’s Special which was $68.99. It included a main course choice of lobster, dungeness crab, or king crab legs.  We agreed on the lobster since the special also comes with king crab legs, snow crab legs, mussels, clams and shrimp.  Oh, but that’s not all, it also comes with corn, sausage, french fries and rice.  You also get to choose what kind of seasonings they put inside your bag.  We chose “The Works”… which was pretty much all of them, lemon pepper, garlic, and raging cajun in a medium heat.  Unbelievable!  We started off with the crab cakes and the crazy bread.  The crazy bread was about the only thing I wasn’t crazy about.  Kind of ironic…  Everything else was bomb, except for the fact that every time I go eat at these places I feel sick.  I just can’t help myself though, it was so good.  It was a nice, sweet and short dinner.  We got lots of laughs in and really enjoyed our hands-on meal.  It takes a lot of work to peel, cut, eat all the shelled seafood, but that is what makes it fun.  After we were all about to tap out, the waitress informed us that we had some shaved ice coming, it was complimentary.  That was good, it made my food digest a little better.  I had a great time.  We don’t really go out that often, so it was nice to get out and live carefree for a moment.  The food makes a nice touch to a great night.

Bib time.
Kevin said, “I’m engaged!”.  He’s a mess.
Fisherman decor
The last crab cake
Zesty french fries.
The “Crazy bread” that I wasn’t too crazy about
Can’t wait to dig in!
Steamy hot bag of deliciousness.
Larry the Lobster
Complimentary shaved ice with surprise ice cream underneath

I totally felt like crap afterwards, but it was oh so worth it.
