This salsa verde recipe is SUPER easy peasy. Fresh ingredients are always the best. You can add it to tacos, flautas, chips, fish.. whatever the heck you want. Best of all, it only takes a little bit of your time. Why buy it in a jar when you can make it yourself? Here is my salsa verde recipe.
Start of a pot of boiling water. Gather about 6 tomatillos (husked and washed) and 3 serrano peppers.
Place the peppers and the tomatillos into the water once it has started to boil.
Boil them for about 15-20 minutes, or until the tomatillos turn a dull green or olive color.
In a food processor or blender, add the cooked tomatillos, the serranos, 1 clove of garlic, 1/3 a bundle of cilantro (which I forgot at first and added later) and 3 tablespoons of chopped onions.
Ah! There it is.
Blend, blend, blend! Add salt to taste and serve!
