A Date With The Sisters At Golden Wok

For over 40 years now, Golden Wok has remained one of the best Chinese food destinations in San Antonio.  It is known for its traditional homemade dim sum selection, which is offered every Sunday.  Go early, because a crowd floods out the door for it.  Aside from the famous dim sum, they offer some of the best specials and a create-your-own stir fry bar with endless ingredients to choose from.  Since this is one of Pita’s favorite places, she thought we could all together and have a sister-time lunch date here.

Since it had been awhile, we unfortunately only decided to try one thing from the dim sum selection.  The cheung fun was delightful.  It is a rice noodle roll filled with your choice of meat, we chose shrimp.  It was really tasty.

For the rest of our meal we decided to indulge in some yummy lunch specials.  They come with a drink, fried rice, an egg roll and some egg drop soup to start off with.  Not too shabby.  My oldest sister Monica (a.k.a. Pita), and I got the shrimp and vegetable stir fry special.  It was pretty good, you can never go wrong with shrimp.  I love lots of vegetables as well.  Golden Wok has some of the best fried rice I’ve ever tasted in my life.  I really don’t know what they do with it.  They stick their whole foot in that rice!

My other sister Melissa got the sweet and sour chicken special.  Sadly, her food didn’t come out as hot as she wanted it.  She isn’t one to complain, but it still didn’t taste bad.

My niece Kayla got the orange chicken special, she loved it.

Overall, we had a wonderful lunch date.  We ended up going back the next weekend to enjoy some more of the dim sum selection.  It was so good.  It’s really nice to spend some quality time with my sisters.  They are my favorite people.  Being gone for 3 years really makes you realize how important it is to spend with the people you really care about.  Where are we going next???  I’m hungry!
